Technical Support Engineer – Fire & Security

THE ROLE
The individual will be responsible for direct support of the existing fire and security technical team and client base. They should be self motivated and be able to demonstrate technical, practical and interpersonal skills. They should be able to converse with customers at all levels in verbal, written and electronic formats. The individual may experience some UK travel as needed to carry out full job role.
Ideally the applicant will have a proven track record from within a support environment from the fire and security industry. They should also be capable of working in a very fast but team orientated environment and be able to demonstrate flexibility in all related tasks and requirements of the business.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Experience in a design, estimation and a technical support role from within the fire and security industry.
§ To provide a high level of telephone based and electronic email support to customers and associated service facilities.
§ To report and escalate any project issues to the Technical Manager.
§ Report and log all customer issues into the CRM database
§ To support the UK sales operation in tendering for new projects and carrying out system designs.
§ To assist the engineering team with maintenance and service call outs.
§ To deliver technical customer training (UK).
§ Attend important project meetings with the UK.
§ High level of support of regional service facilities.
§ Provide written reports on operational, service and customer issues.
§ Perform related duties as assigned.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
§ Experience within the fire and security industry is essential
§ Technical experience of commissioning fire and security systems is essential
§ Industry related qualifications
§ Knowledge of working in a Technical Support role
§ Key products knowledge and the ability to specify products is essential.
§ Excellent interpersonal skills.
§ Excellent MS office skills
§ Clean driving licence
§ UK travel may be required.
