Job Title: Fire System Sales

THE ROLE
 
The Fire System Sales Consultant will be responsible for the overall development of new business and the maintenance of existing customers within the area covered and strategic guidelines and targets established by the Line Manger. The successful candidate will work with customers, prospects and colleagues to achieve the agreed goals of our client and the individual. The job holder will be expected to comply with the overall strategic sales remit of the business. They will be responsible for promoting Fire and Safety awareness
 
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 
§ Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims and sales targets
§ Use our clients’ customer contacts, tools and systems and update information held in these systems
§ Plan/carry our/support marketing and Fire Safety activities to agreed budgets and timescales
§ Respond to and follow-up sales enquiries using appropriate methods
§ Design Fire Detection and Alarm and other related systems to the requirements of BS5839 and other relevant standards
§ Ensure that all quotations/orders are priced to ensure that our clients’ margin requirements are met or exceeded
§ Monitor and report on market and competitors
§ Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings as required to aid business development
§ Individual responsibility for a sales target, self motivated in the achievement of this target
§ Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner
§ Deal with complex issues within the scope of the job’s responsibilities
§ Meet objectives and targets set by line management
§ Ensure that our clients’ Company remains proactive and responsive to prospective their clients
§ To protect and develop the good name and quality ethos of our clients’ Company at all times
§ To promote our clients’ Company and its core values and behaviours, both internally and externally
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 
§ Providing accurate designs to BS5839 for quotation preparations
§ Meeting the agreed sales targets
§ Providing first class proposals to customers.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 
Skills
  • Proven success in sales ability to demonstrate full knowledge of the sales process
  • Experience of at least two years in the field of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
  • Confident negotiator
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Full driving license
  • Understanding of Fire Safety and the responsibilities placed on the responsible person in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
 
Technical Knowledge
  • BFPSA Certification in Design and Advanced Design BS5839 Part 1 2002
  • All round general knowledge of Fire Alarm and Detection Systems
  • Product overview training by key manufacturers
 
Standards
  • Fully conversant and able to apply BS5839 Part 1 and Part 8, BS6266 and HTM05-03 principles
  • Ensure that all our clients’ Company proposals comply with LPS1014
  • Understanding the relevant parts of our clients Company ISO9001 Quality Standards
 
 
Health and Safety
  • Has completed the basic ECS Health and Safety Assessment Training
  • When on site, comply fully with Health and Safety requirements
  • Have a full understanding of how and when to use PPE
 
Documentation
  • Accurately completes:
§ Quotation Request Form
§ Monthly Order Forecast Form
§ Weekly Report Form
§ Monthly Sales Report
 
Also responsible for ensuring that all quotations are presented in line with our clients’ Company requirements and that all tender support documentation such as specifications and drawings are delivered to the office and filed with quotation.
